The prison department began the testing of the secret gadgets, which should disconnect the phones of the prisoners. If the engineers succeed, the jails cannot use the cell phone network, while other cell-phone users won’t be affected.
One of the troubles in jails is an illegal usage of mobiles. It is well-known that the convicts are unpermitted in having a mobile. At the same time, the jailers still use them, although thousands of mobile phones are withdrawn from the prisoners each year. There were even chances when the prisoners attemped to contact the Russian Government via cell phones. Just lately, one prisoner called the members of the Security Committee, and begged them to examine his complaint more detailed.
The chief of prison authorities informed that that situation is not actually the engineering difficulty but the legal one, so such incidents start sometimes. As the FSIN maker highlighted, an sudden stern note of warning came from the special departments, which are responsible for the broadcasting when the so-called phone disrupters were used in some colonies. The headmen were threatened with the administrative liability for interrupting the mobile phone waves.
There is a problem to consume such jammers in the megapolicies, because the normal citizens suffer bad connection. There were some attempts to set the appropriate jammer in the jails some years ago, but it led to a public scandal, because the mobiles quited working not only in the jails, but also in the neighboring houses.
Other gadget is checked in Vladimir. According to the engineers, it doesn't break the telephone connection, but it discloses the phones even if those mobiles are switched off. So the mobiles can no longer be kept away. If this device has success, all jails will be provided with those gizmos.
